Getting Started with magicJack™

magicJack comes with a short USB extension cord and the unit itself. Plug into a computer’s USB port.

The magicJack is programmed to install the drivers for Windows XP, Vista, or Mac OS X. If updated drivers are needed go to www.magicjack.com to download them.

Register account.

Follow the above instructions. This will be the number others will call to reach you. You will be permitted to change your number one time without any charge.

The magicJack window will appear on your screen when operational. Notice the “Ready to call” indicates your phone service is operational. The quality of the audio is somewhat lower than a landline or cellular phone. Sometimes there may be a slight delay or static when someone speaks. Although these are minor annoyances, these are easily ignored when one considers the cost savings for unlimited local and long distance calls anywhere in the USA and Canada.

Your magicJack number works independent of your computer to forward your calls or record Voicemail messages. Click on my.magicjack.com to customize your service.

Login. The page will show personal account information. Call forwarding settings are changed here. Turn this feature on and off as needed. If Call Forwarding is used, Voice Mail will be turned off.
